Walter Wallnöfer began his goldsmith’s apprenticeship in 1971 in Siegfried Authier workshop in Bozen/Bolzano, where he worked until 1980. He then opened his own workshop in Völs am Schlern/Fiè allo Sciliar with his wife Marianne Mulser Wallnöfer.Both daughters, Karin and Petra, who were born in 1980 and 1981 respectively, also learnt the goldsmiths’ craft.

Walter became a master craftsman in 1983 and from 1993 he served for 10 years in the commission for goldsmiths and master goldsmiths examinations (Ausschuss der Goldschmiede- und Meisterprüfungskommission).

More recently, Walter represented Italian goldsmiths in the profession’s world championships in Korea in 2001, 2003 in St. Gallen in Switzerland, 2005 in Finland and in Japan in 2007.

In 2013 he opened a second goldsmith’s workshop in Kastelruth/Castelrotto with his wife Marianne and his daughter Karin.
